In the past this name has been erroneously used to refer to Bupleurum trichopodum Boiss. & Spruner .

The record derives from WCSP (in review) (data supplied on ) which reports it as a misapplied name with original publication details: Fl. Graec. Prodr. 1: 178 1806.
